RE: A BID OF US 80,000

If it was a US truck, it's because they still cost 130k to get a new one. Not so sure i'd want that year though given probably no warranttee on that transfer case, door handles, window mechanisms... hopefully it's been sorted out already.

RE: A BID OF US 80,000

I spoke with Russ from Europa the other day about this truck. It is NOT federalized. The government wanted Europa to crash test the V6 in the later G320 vehicles. There were some other issues as well. This might be a clue as to the low mileage on this truck.

Federalized or Not

I heard (granted, it's second hand ifo) that the truck was Federalized by J.K.Technologies of Baltimore at very high cost and a very long time to do it. It's easy enough to check with a simple phone call; and Russ - as much as I respect what he does - has been known to use the "not Federalized" moniker on other trucks not being imported or sold by or through Europa.

Also, this is at least the second time that it's been on Ebay.

I just communicated with the seller. He says that he has both the release letter from the US-DOT and the release letter from the US-EPA.

As stated earlier, Russ is not always "accurate" or unbiased in these matters.

As I remember, there were similar statements made by them about my 1984 280GE; and it most certainly was properly and legally Federalized.

G320? Why not the G500? Seems like a poor choice on the part of the original buyer and the bid price.

Is that the one that says G320 on the back but has the v8 in the motor shot?

To get one legal is a pain in the butt. A friend of mine has a nissan Skyline R34 GTR. It's like 1 of 3 imported and legal for the usa... I think the total cost was like $50K.

V6 vs V8

Kerr,

Look very carefully at the engine cover and compare it to yours. I think you'll see the difference between a V6 and a V8.
