Winch bumper

I know some of you guys are always looking for a winch bumper set up. Have a look at what popped up on German Ebay.

RE: Winch bumper

Just sharing my new bumper with hydraulic winch. I had it made, the section is a full boxed section in 3mm steel and bolted directly to the original bumper flanges.
The winch tray, 4mm steel plate, is separate and ancored to the main chassis by 6, 12mm HT bolts.

(if interested I have the CAD drawing)

4mm plate? Isn't that a little thin for a winch mount? If I recall correctly e.g. Warn recommends 10mm plate for mounting to ensure that the base doesn't flex and break the winch gears? Can you share some pictures of the mount before it was completed?

My apologies, the plate is of 9mm steel plate (re-measured) and is in a U shape (sides and front) unfortunately I dont have pictures of before the completion but my drawing is showing the shape and size.

Martin & Gianfranco, Today is (fortunately for me) a holiday in SA, tomorrow I will get to the office and will post you the Drawings. would you like the drawings in AutoCAD 2006, DXF file, JPEG or PDF, since I have the facility of translating the drawings I can PM you the files.

Best wishes e tanti saluti,

RE: Winch bumper

Amzimmy,

How are you running your hydraulic winch?  Any chance of some pics of the set-up?

Thanks,

Steve

Amzimmy,

Here some picks and comments on the installed Hydraulic winch:

Winch: MILE_MARKER 8000

An additional pump and reservoir has been installed under the steering pump on a special aluminium bracket.

The pump is driven by the steering pump well through a pulley. There are two different hose layout, one low pressure to and from the reservoir to the pump and one high pressure hose to the winch with the low pressure return.

I hope that the picks are explanatory enough to give you an idea of the installation.

From the pump the hoses run in front of the radiator to the winch.
