Rare 460 G saved

Lovely little 460 GD300. 1988. abandoned but found and restored to running condition.
The "restoration" took two dogs about 3 hrs and comprised sorting out some electrical gremlins that had caused the last owner to abandon it.
Never give up on a G.
Whats rare about it. It is an original Turbo intercooled and it runs as sweet as a nut.

Bill, please tell us more. How do you make that this is "an original Turbo intercooled"? As far as I know, this was never factory-offered.

Cheers

It is one of a very small number of rhd 460s that had the factory approved turbo intercooled fitted as a dealer option, I have a copy of the original factory workshop manual detailing how the work should be carried out complete with a parts list.
It even details where and how the factory supplied Turbo intercooler badges should be fitted. The kit was supplied by Svensk Turbo Teknik and fitted by TB turbos, aaahhh so thats where they got their knowledge !!!
Happy to mail you a copy with the magazine.

......I have a copy of the original factory workshop manual detailing how the work should be carried out complete with a parts list.......

How big a document is this?

Would you mind scanning and e-mailing a copy to me?  I definitely want to consider intercooling at some time down the road and would like to see as much as I can of different ways MB did (or approved doing) it.  If you can, send it to hipine at worldnet dot att dot net.

Thanks!

-Dave G.

RE: Rare 460 G saved

Sure Dave, it is 18 pages and several A3 drawings. more if you want the section on modifying the exhaust system, would it be better snail mailed or put on a disc?

RE: Rare 460 G saved

There are plenty of old STT G's in Norway, -for those who's interested.
The engines last only if real professionals intalled and tuned these turbo kits, due to the fact that the
617 engine is COMPLETELY different from a 617A
