Knead help identifying a G

I just spoke on the phone whit the owner of this G:

http://www.auto-compra-e-venda.pt/veiculos/ficha.asp?P_cod_veiculo=...

He said it’s a G 300GD from 1994, whit AC and manual gearbox. Can this car be a 463? Should the 463 have a plastic bumper?

Thanks VCR

The headlight surrounds, the outside rear view mirrors and the lack of the intake louvres on the side of the fender point towards a W460 from the 1980's. Also, he calls it a "G 300 GD", which would say that it's a diesel; but he lists the fuel as gasoline (or is "Gasoleo" the Portuguese word for diesel?).

Get the VIN or chassis number, and we can tell more for sure.

If he won't give the number over the phone, he must have something to hide.

Yes, 460's were available with A/C as an extra cost option from the factory.

See also my first message, which I edited.

P.S. It is most definitely not a W463 from 1994.

Gasóleo it’s in fact the Portuguese word for diesel.
I don’t think he is trying to hide same thing. The wetter is not so good all over the country and I’m guessing he is just too lazy to go out and check it because of the rain or in a hurry to go and have lunch. He also could say if the car had 2 or 3 differential lockers.
Ill try and call again after lunch break.

You can be 100% sure that it is not a W463 and it does not date from 1994. Get the VIN.

Re: Knead help identifying a G

Last month I saw an advert on Swiss autoscout offering a Puch 300 GD form mid-90s with 70000 kms on clock. The car on photo look the same as a W460 300 GD in very good condition, and according to the advert it had also 88 PS. I tought it is a kind of scam, so I did not even mention it here, but as this one I am not so sure anymore.

RE: Knead help identifying a G

I would bet that that truck is a 1984 300 GD. Naturally, a 460.

It is common practice to alter the year of first registration of cars over here by pretending later that it was a typo. What they gained was inmmediate attention.
