bwillie Date registered: Dec 1899 Location: Vehicle(s): | Steel Wheels?? I have a set of 255/55/16 tires laying around that I would like to use for driving around town to get some extra oompf from the use of the smaller tires when not off-road. Has any one fitted these to the factory steel wheels?? If yes, does anyone in the Colorado area have a set that they are willing to part with?

They'll be a little "chubby" and will make it a little soft in cornering, but for light duty use would be fine. I also ran 255/85 Coopers on a couple 5.5 wheels I had as spares before I rounded out the stable with 6 good 6" wheels. They ran okay too, but wore the centers of the tires a little quicker than the edges. -Dave G.

It's going to look really funny donut and it's going to wear unevenly. Really not the combination that you would be looking for on-road. Off-road it might work and you rims would be nicely protected -UG-
