Re: Nice and rare G from Switzerland

We could use that G right now in Oklahoma City. We are expecting 1 to 2 inches of ice and snow between now and Saturday with additional accumulation possibly on Sunday. And tempuratures will be below freezing. Our tempuratures will not be above freezing until Thursday.

RE: Nice and rare G from Switzerland

Most probably 3120mm wheelbase and probably without front locker.

Ideal for a serious camper basis.

Pretty expensive though.

Greetings,

Frank

RE: Nice and rare G from Switzerland

This is type 461 227 (W460 230 GE with 3,120 mm wheelbase Chassis Cab bodywork). Just three of them were ever made!. One of the other two was offered for sale not a long time ago, but it had very low mileage and the asking price was ludicruous (some € 50.000 if I remember well)

Sorry, the three made were W461. Another 6 were made in W460 guise, for a total of 9.

not to sure about that.
i know three 3120mm wheelbase singlecap cars myself, and i'm fairly confident i saw another 2 for sale (incl. the one above).
all that i saw were 460, and i hardly can belive that only six were built when i saw allready 5.
jesus, honestly, productionnumbers from graz allways were estimations or roundabout figures.
i wouldn't give a damn on what they publish....

Re: Nice and rare G from Switzerland

Agree, there must be many, many more than 9 of thesre, I know I have seen more than 10-15 different pictures myself in addition to 2-3 on the streets!

RE: Nice and rare G from Switzerland

I want one! Anyone know where there is one for sale? Is that the only extended wheelbase G ever? Other than custom? I've considered getting a porject G and stretching it...

Re: Nice and rare G from Switzerland

I am affraid, this car is only 14 years old, so it is far from being US street legal. If you are still interested send me a PM.

It is one of a few 3120 mm single cab cars, there were also some double cabs and MB even offered 3400 mm single cab, but I have never seen such car other than in a prospect. As far as I know this is one of two 3120 mm trucks for sale the other one can be found on the web site www.gwagen.com, and is located in the U.S. .

These are the total production numbers of the various types made with bodywork code 9 (chassis single cab) until December 2004 (I think):

(Code) (model) (Fuel) (Wheelbase in mm) (Type) (Type desc) (units made)
460 224 280GE Petrol 3,120 9 Chassis Cab 31
460 227 230GE Petrol 3,120 9 Chassis Cab 6
460 325 300GD Diesel 3,120 9 Chassis Cab 489
460 329 250GD Diesel 3,120 9 Chassis Cab 374
461 227 230GE Petrol 3,120 9 Chassis Cab 3
461 322 290GDT Diesel 3,400 9 Chassis Cab 2,169
461 323 290GD Diesel 3,400 9 Chassis Cab 738
461 329 290GD Diesel 3,120 9 Chassis Cab 3,074
461 345 G270CDI Diesel 3,400 9 Chassis Cab 45
462 002 P4 Petrol 3,120 9 Chassis Cab 95
Total 7,024

What I meant is that of type 460.227 (230 GE as the one advertised) just 6 were made.

Cheers

Re: Nice and rare G from Switzerland

I think there were also some more. Right now a 3rd 3120 is for sale on German ebay, and that is a 240 GD.
