The rear door makes this LOUD noise going over small bumps, around corners. Sort of a creaking/knocking noise. I had my wife drive while I rode in the back. It is coming from near the hinge. I took off my socks and closed them in the door on the hinge side and the noise stopped. Anyone have this problem? Any better fix for this. I need my socks.

That is the correct answer. Here's how: Slightly loosen the attachment screws on the double V shaped block on the right hand door pillar. Close the door while you are inside. With a drift or narrow piece of wood, tap that double V block out against the closed door until it is tight. Carefully open the door without moving the V block and tighten it securely. Lubricate the V block and door latch with a little bit of vaseline or white lithium lubricant. Your bump and grind should be gone.

Take off your spare tire and check the allen screws which hold the mount plate to the door. I've had those screws come loose and that's what was the problem. That could be it and closing the sock in the door could still solve it since you flex the door a little in doing so.

I found if you slightly adjust upwards the aluminum guide that goes in to the black plastic V groove, this will tighten the door a lot. Also check that pin in the door that Hus55 mentioned, the two screws holding mine in were really loose. I'm sure that wasn't helping the problem.

Posts: 2230 | Re: Rear door noise i had to buy a new door alignment (part on the door frame with two black v-shapes on it.they gave me the black one as mentioned that are for the 463!so it did not match its partner on the door as the 460 part is a thin white plastic one with metal inner.SO i went to mercs again and they said my one was discontinued and so upgraded to the 463 model SO I WILL NEED THE UPGRADED 463 PART ON THE DOOR, THAT IT RESTS IN!!! SO i ask how much and sit down just incase, while the price comes on screen.under £10!! so i brought it aswell. what a happy ending and i think this upgraded part should be an improvement ( i hope........!)
