I would really appreciate it if you could put a few rumours to rest on the new 2007 US G's:

1) Do they have Tele-Aid?

2) Can you adjust the stereo volume on the steering wheel?

3) Has the stereo been upgraded?

A little help please ... and more pics would be nice

What's that control panel device to the right of the driver's seat? Wish they would've done the brake pedal to match the gas.

Good-looking G though. Love the headlights!!

That adjusts the seat bladders for the lower back, lower legs and sides

Congratulations, Joe!

Nice looking truck...did you check everything? When I got mine, there was body damage to the side of the roof...

Nice truck! So are the rumurs true that in a month or 2 the 07 will get a new instrument cluster and new tail lights and back up camera or is this still all speculation? I have seen the pics as I am sure most have so I am a bit confused as to what will be coming here.

I'm trying to find out too - if there will be an even more updated 2007 G. Anyone know? I have a G55 coming anytime now and I would hate to wait even longer for the more updated version if the one coming doesn't have all the goodies. The $$ I'm spending though I wouln't hesitate telling my guy I need to wait a couple more months as this is the last "truck" i wil buy (for now).

Will the loss of these functions cause you to buy another model or another brand?
Just curious...that's all.

I have had MB most of my life, and if I didn't have a dog, I would buy a S550 (best looking/designed MB in years; love the 7-speed and new 550's hp) ... since the dog won't fit in a car, I need a SUV ... and I really loved my 2005 G55K (made me smile every time I got in it), my 'only' complaint was the stereo wasn't powerful enough to drowned out exterior noise.

Every consumer is different, but to me safety is a big concern. The changes to the 2007 make the G 'less' safe. No Tele-Aid means no tracking if the car is stolen; no transmission to rescue services if Air-bag is deployed; no Locked-Out service. The functions not being on the Steering Wheel means more time with my eyes off the road to manage the radio or telephone, and with the way the G bounces down the road, pushing buttons is MUCH easier while holding the Steering Wheel.

Based on the changes, I will be looking for a 2005 or 2006 G55K; years with Side-Impact Air-Bags and Steering Wheel functions ... and then upgrade the old 'Analog' Tele-Aid equipment to the new 'Digital' equipment ... I need to now patiently wait to find a 'Certified' G in another unique colour That can take months, and who know if MBUSA will fix the Steering Wheel/Tele-Aid/Harness issues by then???

G55 with digital upgrade already done. What makes you say no TeleAid on 07? I was told it was digital but was there?? Also there are function buttons on the 07 steering wheel. Just want to make sure you have the right info. Also suggest that if the back seat of the S550 ain't big enough for your dog then you have may inadvertantly be taking care of a species other than canine.

Re: My 2007 G500 On the truck for delivery tonight

Marco,

Merkwurdichliebe just confirmed it, but everyone who has been in a 2007 MBUSA G is posting that Tele-Aid is not available ... or at least not on the ones currently in the U.S., and there seems to be a Harness issue between the old Steering Wheel and new DVD NAV/Center Console/Radio/Telephone

... and my dog is more the size of a Wooly Mammoth

Was told that the 07 was shipped with analog and that they were told that the digital upgrade was all that was needed. Re:dog Three of those will fit in the S class and there would still be plenty of room. Sorry about the loss of your red monster. Where was it taken from?

How long to you think the leather seats of a S550 would last with a 120 pound drooling Monster jumping up and down on them, and trying to get into the front seat? ... and he ALWAYS is car sick within the first couple miles of a trip!!! The rubber floor mat in the back paid for itself 50 times over

My G was stolen right in front of my home over Thanksgiving ... walked out the door and another car was parked where it was the night before

P.S They orignally were spec'ed to not have Tele-Aid ... and after much delay, they still don't have it. Here is the MBUSA MY'07 G55 mods sheet:

Sorry about the dog but I took you at your word ("since the dog won't fit in a car"). I will try to find out about the TeleAid but it sounds very strange to decontent but then again it is MBUSA! Again, sorry you had your truck stolen. It did have TeleAid - were they able to recover it?
