ET43

very strange, ET 43 is normally the winter rim ET for the G55 with wider fendersurroundings
and "normal" actual G`s run with ET 63 rims...

Not on USA versions. They used ET43 since they arrived in 2002.

Speculation is that the wider track gives less rollover potential; and in the extremely litigious US society, it's called preventive action.

are all them gray like that. My axles, driff etc are painted black. I wonder if that gray is some sort of new coating so stuff doesent rust?

Beautiful G.. I want those head lights..

no Kerr,

the gray is not wax, it`s just all gray painted under the car.
the suspension from my 06 is gray too underneath.

Dutch,

interesting theory... but with 2 cm more widh the rims stand out of the fenders or
not? i with my ET 63 don`t have a lot of space left. with 2 cm more widh the wheels
would stand out clearly. but i can`t believe they also use other axles for overseas.

Mick,

US wheels stick out 2cm more on each side. US models have the same axles.

Re: A look under my 07 G before it gets dirty

I think the G55 also runs a wider tire 285/60/18 on a 9.5 inch rim width

(which would stick out (and in)) on the sides more (wider flares)

The G500 has a 7.5 inch wide wheel and runs a 265/60/18

I always thought something about the US Gs looked more aggressive but I couldn't quite place my finger on why.

But its not just spacers - its a wider tire. I've got the wider axles on my G and it is still not the same.

Because I don't want a US spec G. If I did I would of bought one and for the amount of money G500s are changing hands I probably could of saved a few bob too.

For me a LWB 2000 G300 TD is the perfect G in all aspects... well that plus a Cabrio... actually maybe a LWB G320 CDI...
