OM 617 952 front pulley

Hi

Newbie to this site. Am not sure if this is the right place to ask if anyone has / can supply and post a front pulley damper for the 617 turbo motor to South Africa?

It's probably a better place to ask than most other places. We have a couple of parts suppliers who frequent this forum; and I'm sure that at least one of them can help you out.

Welcome!

617A Front vibration damper and front puller are two separate parts

Jokes asides, DaveG (hipine) has recently done a transplant of a 617A, maybe he will join in on the forum or you can PM for advice.

RE: OM 617 952 front pulley

The only thing I can add is that I'd get new bolts while you're at it.  They tend to collect crud there and rust just enough that they start to loose their shape after even one or two applications of the allen wrenches.  If you order from the dealer the new bolts you get will be nice plated ones with loctite already applied.  After putting them in, fill the allen head pockets with waterproof grease and you'll be sure to be able to remove them when needed.

Re: OM 617 952 front pulley

Thanks Gents,

I have the pulley and damper from a non turbo 617. It is not the same as the turbo motor. The turbo motor has a longer crank and therefore the pulley ends up further away from the crankcase and misaligns with the waterpump , alternator etc. I assume I need both pulley and damper.

Peter I'll check those numbers.
