trans update.

Some of you know from the other post that while i was changing my steering stabilizer i noticed i had a trans leak. I push on the senser and it started dumping trans fluid out. I trailered to the dealer ( probably an over kill move) to get it fixed. They fixed it yesterday and the total was $74.30 or something like that. I havent had time to look under it yet. we went to a girls incorporated fund raiser last night.

Parts replaced are:

1) 100 4234 = connector sleeve $46.80
1) 203-540-01-53 = Spacer $8.25
1) 001-989-21-03-01 = Trans fluid $8.25

then the ticket says

B Camp ALT?VOLT regulator ----- 2005070017

024828 Voltage regulater - Alternator (DAS connected), Repakce 4324WMB4L

1 003-154-54-06 Regulator A

024762 SDS connect & disconnect 4234WMB4l

R&R engine fan, shroud, belt. Replace ALT VLT REG. No charge

So it looks like mb is now replacing the voltage reg at no charge?

Here is what it was leaking from. The lady said they have not had any G500 with that problem but they have had a lot of ML's... then she well no one dives the miles you do on a G around here. The one i parked beside is a 02 as well she said it had 18K miles on it.

Back on the trans they said " yea it needed the part but it was not leaking that bad"....

RE: trans update.

Yep, that is the leaky part of the 722.6 transmission. You caught it early. The E-class had a huge puddle under it.

I see that the dealership did the typical thing and replaced the big expensive parts. I doubt there was a need to replace the hard parts. Normally it is only the o-rings that fail.

Re: trans update.

My old '86 280 GE had a leak (leaks) and I just kept TRANS X bottle in the back! Once in awhile tightened up all around. Mileage was in the upper 180's though.
