Dan hoists Frenchie

We were out being taught by a man called Frenchie where the rollover limits of a 4X4 happen. He said my son Dan (14) had to slide the front wheels off the bank into the ditch. Dan did everything Frenchie said like "SLOOOOW I SAID SLOOOOOW..." But those BFG Muds did not slide. By the time they went over the edge the front left wheel was way up in the air and started diving. Frenchie had connected himself to the back right. I took the picture a tad too early - just as Frenchie left the ground (making a lot of noise). He was at full stretch when the G hit the bottom and sweetly landed, idling at the bottom. From where Amzimmy and the others were standing they thought that was what was meant to happen. I think they wondered why Frenchie was making so much noise.

Let me tell you! I was standing opposite on the other side of the ditch and boy, the front left wheel was still at least half a meter above "terra firma". I guess that Frenchie was chewing more that he could handle! .... I'll ask Dirk if he has a photo from where we were standing.

Btw; well done Dan!

RE: Dan hoists Frenchie

Whoh!  That looks like some drop off under the left front!

So what was "supposed" to happen?  I'm guessing he was looking for the car to start to slide sideways before it rolled?  I've heard such claims before, but as one who can speak personally from sliding a sports car sideways and ending on the roof after the tires left the rims...there are lots of ways that sliding doesn't prevent rolling.  :^)))

Looks like a great day.  And a nice looking G!  It's always fun to learn to push your limits when there's someone there to keep you out of REAL trouble.

Thanks for sharing!  Love to see more if you have them.
