Smitty Date registered: Dec 1899 Location: Vehicle(s): | Mirror glass I have a 2002 G500 and the right wing mirror glass has "fallen off" while being serviced. I called the dealer and they want over $200 for the glass and my local Mercedes recycler (Potomac German) don't have one. Does anyone have a lead on a used piece of glass?

See what these folks charge. I've seen some very good prices from them: http://www.trademotion.com/partlocator/index.cfm?siteid=213951 From what I understand, that glass just clips in place; and the real trick is to re-clip it back without breaking it.

If you buy it from Caliber Motors (800) 252-6877 - tell them you are a Mercedes club member, they will probably discount it 25%.

Dutch, Trademotion is a good website. I never saw it before. Good place to get an idea about costs.

I used a hot glue gun to re-attach the glass temporarily, and it has been like that for a couple months. If you use hot glue instead of adhesive you can throw a heat gun to it and release the glass to get the mirror mechanics.
