Re: Old to new Conversion! Help

As a note, I had a beautiful white 300SL with red interior go zipping past me in traffic ( on Guerrero or Valencia can't remember) today while going to a little Vietnamese place for lunch.

My cousin has a Gullwing and he never even let his wife drive it, let alone a kid!

Jonathan

Is that so unusual? None of mine have ever driven my G's.

Same thing happens here: my wife wouldn't let ME drive MY G

RE: Old to new Conversion! Help

expensive toys need to be maintained - even though, some are more rewarding than others

also, since you are already open to a 463 look for a 460 - you may have to pay for a Julia Roberts upgrade

If it was me, I would run away screaming. Fast!

damn right . which remind me what is the only difference between boys and mans - the price of the toys

and looks like I am the only happy person around - SHE never wants to drive my G at any circumstances

You should take a good look at this G. It looks like one I looked at last month....it's a PUCH not a G and it's rusted badly in the rear, you gona need more than a face lift for it.

RE: Old to new Conversion! Help

I have upgraded my 26 years old 280 GE and most of the upgrades where done locally

- Bumpers : customized , fitted on top of the old bumpers ( having now double bumpers )
- Fender Flares : customized
- Lights : grill was removed and after market lights with halogen bulbs were fitted
- Break lights : MB dealer
- Mirrors : after market bought from a local shop
- Tires cover : customized
- Rims : from the C class
- Steering Wheel : from the E 320 W124
- Central lock : for the 5 doors after market

When done the G got Hijacked temporary by the wife as you see in the last picture , mainly because of the feeling of being secure while driving in a G

This is how it looks now .

RE: Old to new Conversion! Help

Shebl,

how doyou fit C-Class wheels (rims) on a G?
They look like the old style AMG wheels for the G

Frankly speaking I am not a pro , when I went to change the original iron rims , I saw this set and I thought it would match with the shape of the G .
When I asked the dealer he told me this is for the C class AMG and I asked him if they fit to my G and the answer was positive and I had them fitted on .
When I first fitted them everyone said they are weak and can't take the weight of the G and might break during off road but so far so good .

This week I am traveling home for vacation and the G will be out of the GaraGe for some offroad and put those rims into test again .

I would trust your Judgment more than the sales guy at the dealer .
