G-Class facelift

Quick question about new trucks.

We all seem to agree that the outward beauty of the G-Class lies with the LACK of change over 29 years...Which brings up the topic a body facelift.

Design engineers are also not paid to suggest: "...nothing should be changed".

If a facelift to the 463 is to be made, where would you draw the line?

Re: G-Class facelift

Using the same dies, aluminium pressings for hanging body parts though.

Fix that rust trap in the rear corners too. Otherwise: Don't change it.

Is there a direction in a "facelift" that would tell you: "... this is no longer a G-Class"
?

RE: G-Class facelift

what does "merkwurdichliebe" mean?

Also, why aren't displaying your location? 007?

Since this is a strong, well connected community, it would be nice to see new faces as "open faces"

Re: G-Class facelift

As one who is proud to drive a brand new G-Class, I was merely beginning a topic which is of interest to me; the future of this product.
The current warantee also negates my need to enter into discussions of "repair" and "things gone wrong".

I'll just move on. (Ich bin darueber hinweg)

Re: G-Class facelift

Lionel,

you are indeed "merkwürdig" - strange.

About the facelift. I don't expect anything before 2010. None of us will have a say in how the new one will look like - so we are left with the basic options: buy it or keep what we have. No loss. Most of us are not in it for the short run anyway.

And he's not from Saskatchewan either. Try Hicksville, NY.
