See the image below, we torture the tires on my vehicles like that on a daily basis. They last about 30,000 miles that way. They mainly need replacement because the side walls are scuffed by then to a point that it is safer to replace the tires. Tread would still last another 10,000 miles. I have very good experience with the Goodyear MTR as well (behavior is slightly different than BFG MT - they need higher pressure on-road and slightly less psi off-road to achieve the same performance) - all other Goodyear tires are an absolute NO! for off-road.
