I have standard 6J steel rims with 235 85 16's on the G and I want to convert my trailer to run in the same track as the G. How wide apart do I make the mounting flanges of the trailer hubs as I also want the trailer to run on same G rims and tyres? Harald, anyone else, got a sketch showing where the ET is measured to and from? What is the G's track width - looks about 1430mm? Thanks

Steel wheels ET same as Alloys? I have measured with a tape about 1430mm. Definitely not 1475. Gruesse.

There is a big advantage to having the same tracking width, especially in sand. It's also nice to have the same wheel/tire on the trailer and the G as well. I carry two identical spares, which will work on the truck and the trailer. I have used both on some trips, so it's a definite advantage. G pattern is not very common Peter Peter, I will make them, either from scratch where I can include the centre spigot, or from blanks availlable from Alko for about R250 ($18). I have the equipment (lathes, mills, dividing heads etc). Will check that 1551 distance as soon as the sun comes up. Thanks guys. I'll keep you posted.
