Found this electronic ignition module 1:1 replacement. www.123ignition.nl even better the australian branch site: www.123ignition.com.au The citroen dyna tests link there show some improvement. I left a question at the dutch (nl) forum about G. Some anecdotal google evidence say 20% fuel economy is possible. But I haven't found any hard facts. Does anybody know anything about this device real world performance, best in 280GE? (20l/100km ave fuel consumption) Piotr Edited by nugat 7/6/2007 7:12 AM

These devices were very popular in the late 80's as the new cars were getting electronic ignitions the owners of older cars wanted an update. Basically it gives you a much hotter spark and more complete burn in the cylinder. I had one on my Porsche 356 and did notice a difference in MPG and smoother performance. I replaced my coil with a Bosch Blue Coil, which was supposed to be more compatible and give better performance. Sorry never tested it on a 280. Mark

They have obviously improved upon the technology since the 80's. And from the video it appears that you will receive a more consistant spark, which is a good thing. No more loaping of the a hot engine at idle. With any Gas engined vehicle the timing of the spark and fuel delivery are THE key elements to better performance. With the "moving a brick through the air" aerodynamics of a 280GE you will probably recieve a 5-10% better MPG, just a bit of a performance boost and possibly a smoother running engine. Mark

Smoother operation across the RPM range and adjustable advance curves. May help economy - don't know if anybody has checked.
