Hi All, This is a test the waters message to see if there is any interest in a G Tour of the MBUSI factory in Vance, Alabama where the ML, GL and R Classes are built. This tour would be with the assistance and participation of a good friend of the Gwagen, who was very involved at DBAG/DCAG both with the startup of that plant, and also in marketing the Gwagen in many other parts of the world. I've been told that the tours are only on Tuesday and Thursday; but I'm trying to see if a Saturday tour might be available. While not a normal part of the tour, I've also been told that it might be possible to add a visit to the test track; although this is not certain right now. To give any who are interested the time to make plans, I'm thinking about scheduling it in January, February or March. If you're interested in something like this, respond back either here or on Treffen Email List, where I'm also going to post this message. Keep in mind that it might have to be a Tuesday or Thursday date.

The factory is not usually open on weekends, so we could make it a Federal holiday when they are open on a Monday. There is also a museum that is open now.

It's a little far at 7-8 hours away. Love to see the factory though. Maybe also a good chance to show MB that there is a serious group of G owners/potential buyers out there. Jonathan

This would be a rare opportunity to get behind the scenes of a unique facility. I know that a group of Forum members organized by Harald has been to Graz to the G factory there. With the dollar dropping like a rock, this is a much less expensive option!

Looks like a full day or more could easily be spent there. I'm working on a firm date - probably in March, and will post it as soon as I know something.
