I priced it the way I want it on www.mbusa.com and it came out to $57k. 3 zone climate control sunroof package keyless go power rear gate mb tex Also, has anyone ordered one with mb tex and did not take delivery because of the mb tex? I am really trying to convince my wife this is the right car for her however she thinks our children are still to young (3 and 5) and will tear it up. Anymore issues with the q3 hose? What real world mileage are people getting? Around town and on the highway? Thanks, uzj100

I recently looked at this one as a possible replacement for my ML320CDI and my G500. However, the off road package is not available with the 320CDI engine, so I scrapped the idea. Really stupid MBUSA marketers!

To answer the MB Tex question, there is nothing on this planet that is stronger and longer lasting than MB-Tex. Period. As proof, some unknown uses for MB-Tex: - Was used to seal off the reactor core following the 3-mile island disaster - Is used as a landfill liner to prevent leaks - Used by the US Army Corp of Engineers to seal the leak at the 4th Street Levee in New Orleans - Used as the sling to lift the Space Shuttle main fuel tank to a vertical position - Was used in Ghost Busters to stop the Sta-puff Marshmalllow man

It's true though, if you have rowdy kids, MB-Tex is just about ideal.

When I used to go to the boneyard for parts for my 1962 220 Sb, I would see half a dozen parts cars from the 60's with the MB-tex in perfect shape! This was in the 1970's when they just sat out in the open. I bought a set of red seats and replaced mine. Someone had burned or "melted" a hole in the driver's seat in mine.

I'm not sure if what we get up here in Canada is the same as MB Tex, but they call it Artico Leather up here It looks and feel just like leather, and they say it breathes like leather, but is tougher and easier to clean. Anyway, I went with it. We'll see if I miss that lovely leather smell

So, I, too am looking at the GL320cdi and am curious about dealer add ons and extras. My preference is for MBtex after having had old diesels with it. I have dogs and the stuff wears like iron. Has anyone been able to buy one for under $60k?

If you're a long distance traveler, I'd recommend against the MB-Tex. The GL seats are a full two inches narrower than the seats in our E-class, and the MB-Tex doesn't "breathe" like leather. This all means a pretty hot ride, maybe even "monkey butt."

chieftam Date registered: Dec 1899 Location: Vehicle(s): | Re: GL320 CDI - Questions? I purchased mine on May 1, got it for $500 over invoice, it had Group 1, 19", voice control, trailer package, Ipod connection, and came out just under $60. Think the list was $63500.00. Love it, but would like to see the 23/27 that Automobile Magazine got city/highway. I am more like 19/23

With two dogs and lots of trips with packages to FedEx I would say MB-Tex is tops. I am amazed at how many people think it's "leather!" If tou really want to see how it wears find someone with a 240 D from the 1980's. The car may be a rust bucket, but the seats will look great!

People think the "leather" in my wife's E looks like new after 10 years of kids. It would be a disaster if it really were leather. Dropped ice cream cones, pets, various secretions, yech! It all washes out. If you are prone to butt-sweat, I suppose it might be a problem, but with normal AC use, I've never had a problem. No different than the leather seats in my G.
