Plastic covering for wiper nut missing


The stealership says I'll have to but a whole new unit just to replace the pastic thingy that covers the nut that secures the wiper. Any ideas of a workaround?

Part # A008243572  (#41 in the diagram below)

These last about 10-15 years, depending on sun exposure.

Fill it with grease when you put it on.

Eurotruck Importers announces them for $ 3.20 each.
I boutght mine some years ago. No problem.

My guess is the OP is talking about the hinged cover at the base of the wiper arm. The one that covers the nut that holds the wiper on. I have one of these broken too and have been to this point too cheap and lazy (mostly the latter) to replace the arm.
