I thought the alternator wasn't charging the battery but apparently that's well within voltage range. I am having issues with cold starts and it can be painful and long drawn out. Also the ABS light won't switch off sometimes. After a while the car starts but with at a very low RPM. Whatever mechanism or device that normally boosts the RPM when it starts is definitely not working. Normally after starting you hear a sustained rev that lowers after a few seconds. That's not happening. I got the throttle body cleaned -but that was a wrong diagnosis. Any ideas welcome. Thanks Edited by King_GH 5/22/2016 1:17 PM

With the engine running. sometimes it would read 14V and then just 12v battery voltage and going south quickly. He even mentions intermittent ABS light associated with the voltage issue. Engine temp sensor that feeds info to the ECU is a possible suspect, then vacuum leak. Edited by J.R. 5/22/2016 2:00 PM

Attatched G KE WIS PDF. Its all very simple and parts are 95% the same of 300E. Hope helps Attachments ---------------- 0030 - Function description_ Design and operation A.pdf (43KB - 22 downloads) 0030 - Function description_ Design and operation B.pdf (341KB - 22 downloads) 0030 - Function description_ Design and operation C.pdf (382KB - 24 downloads)

After turning on the A/C, high beams radio etc then revving the engine for a while, the voltage never dropped or go beyond 14.34. I'm beginning to suspect the idle control valve as it may be quite dirty around 118000km. Edited by King_GH 5/22/2016 2:03 PM

Are there some electrical checks you can do on the idle air control valve? Is there a fuse that protects that circuit that may or may not be connected to the ABS light? If all checks out electrically for the IACV, I would remove the IACV for an off engine cleaning. Carb Cleaner has always done well for me in other cars IACV. I am careful to not let the electric motor/servo get exposed to the carb cleaner.
