I have just fitted a new gasket and carefully paid attention to the recommended torque settings, to no avail. It still leaks. Any suggestions please?

Hylomar sorted out my leak. Also just confirm if that is where it is coming from. On Greg's G what appeared to be a sump leak turned out to be 2 leaks. One at the kickdown solenoid and the other at the Dipstick connection into the box.

It would hold fluid with no issue, but, there was still a leak in that corner from it not sealing correctly. Check that your pan is dimensionally correct. I ordered a new pan and seal and it was convenient as I was able to install the transmission pan magnet as well. See my earlier post about this. Edited by H1LM002G55 1/30/2015 11:57 AM

I am concerned about using a sealer which may gloop out into the works. I do not know Hylomar?

If your pan is leaking just buy a new pan and seal. For my 722.3 it was about $100 USD total a few years back.

I would not use hylomar. But that is me. Buy an OEM pan and OEM transmission pan gasket and be done with it. Again, do not forget, add a magnet to the pan. Cheap insurance.
