Re: Land Rover people

seems that even the landrover guys are getting soft due to the flufy nature of the new vehicles by LR. Real offroading LR owners use D90's and D110's (like me).

And yes i wanted a G55K but couldn't source a new one in RHD!!

They are being made new every day. Graz makes the G and sends it to AMG for the RHD conversion. It is then sent back to Graz for final inspection and shipment. There were several in the final inspection area when we visited the plant in Sept 2005.

Wow guys - listen to yourself!
Sounds like 10,000 years ago. Only the "tools" are different.
Remember this one revolutionary guy 2,000 years ago?
Powerful stuff.
Smile and wish anyone a good day. Whatever they say.

I second that, Harald!

(Incidentally, both my L322 LR RR and W461 G are fine trucks - major components of the LR drive-line are built in Graz by Magna Steyr and Steyr by BMW).

Guess this is now a little off track. It's a LWB 461 RHD.

Re: Land Rover people

Hey now guys.

The G drivers here in Highlands Ranch, CO can be just as bad. I've got a pretty well modified 1992 RR with all the bells and whistles (just short of a safari fridge), and I get asked the same questions. Just because you can buy something doesn't mean you need it! hahaha! That's what I've come up with.

I find I'll off road with anyone with any vehicle as long as they are the tread lightly, and friendly type. My regular group includes all makes of LR, Jeep, and Toyotas (no G's but I've encouraged plenty to join us).

I've joined the board to investigate what off road vehicle will be next for me, and since the live axle is becoming hard to find.... here I am!

Any points in the right direction to learn all about the G, and range of modifications is what I'll be after.

Thanks in advance!

Todd

Oh... and not to pile on the ML.... but doesn't it stand for Minivan Leicht?

Yes, a total of 76 W461 open tops were built in RHD. Mine's probably one of the very few in factory white. I'm in Australia.

To each his own, but man! The ignorance of that Discovery guy. How does a guy that claims to be an off roader in the tough stuff not know about a D90 or D110? A supposed Land Rover junkie no less!

Re: Land Rover people

You should have further tested the LR Disco guys by refering to even older rugged LR products such as the Series I, Series II, or Series III. Or maybe go even deeper into the 88in WB or 109in WB. I bet they don't know what a Wolf is or a Lightweight.

They are usually A-holes too! Wonder why?........

YOu must be talking about some of the regulars on Discoweb.... Not the nicest of place for people to share their opinions and stories. I would continue with this story but it would be :blahblah:

Exactly!

Wasn't someone selling a military version of that on the West Coast? Looked nice!

AHH!! Here! A 460 though!
