Northwest G Gathering

There is a plan to circle the G wagens here at the farm the weekend of June 7/8th. The format is open, we could do some tech type of thing. We can have a trail run. There could be a scoot up to the large vineyared I manage that has big vistas and off road opportunities for folks to do some experimenting and there are four outstanding wineries adjacent to that proprety. More than anything it is a chance for most of us to finally meet in person around a campfire. We have a lot of space for camping. There is lodging available in Corvallis and great food there as well. The address can be found on our Lumos website under contact us: http://www.lumoswine.com/index.htm

Welcome.

RE: Northwest G Gathering

Hello Dai,

This " Vineyards & Wagens" meeting at your beautiful place in Oregon's wine country will be another highlight in our 2008 G-wagen calendar.

The date of June 7 and 8, 2008 is marked already, and I'll pledge to supply the (necessary) German Bratwurst (Thüringer) for the BBQ or Lagerfeuer, which ever is lit first.....

Looking forward for this NW adventure, and thanks to you and your family for setting up such a G-wagen Treffen

RE: Northwest G Gathering

Hey Dai,

Yes, thanks for setting this up - I'll be there and I can bring some of the barley nectar made by the good people of Deschutes Brewery!

Looking forward to it and to seeing you and your family again - it's been a while!

If you don't mind me coming in a rusted-out camo G, I'd love to come. My fj60 land cruiser is more pristine but obviously not in keeping with the theme. You are very gracious, Dai. Your wine is amazing and not to be missed.

Re: Northwest G Gathering

I am not sure I can make it yet but keep me up to date. This was a great idea and I really hope to make it down. G's and wine, what could be better?

Re: Northwest G Gathering

There may be some interesting non G vehicles arriving. Craig may arrive in a Landrover D 100! Yes 100! Please come even if your transport is not the G class. A Handbruiser is welcome. That is what PK called my FJ55. Friends who are flying here will not be in G's. The point is to have a venue for this Great community to connect. I still have some of Karl's wonderful German beer to share. Harald? I made some dry Gewurtztraminer to share. Karl, PK is not sharing the marzipan! Thank you for bringing some Bratwurst. Woody, thanks for bringing some of Deschutes finest, is Black Butte Porter one of them?

Re: Northwest G Gathering

I plan to bring fresh Bratwurst, Blutwurst for the blood thirsty types, fresh on-ice salmon, Bier from Fish Tail Ales in Olympia, some local white wines, my own Rotkohl (Redcabbage), and three or four members from the Puget Sound and BC. We plan to caravan down on the sixth of June from Olympia, WA.

Dai,
I'm thinking we should be able to make it. Not sure yet how much of my clan will be coming. Look forward to finally getting up there.

Well, in continuing to not follow the theme, I was planning on bringing apple and Marion berry pies.  Also since Deschutes Brewery is represented, I thought I would bring some Big Sky Brewing Ale.  Anyone bringing Dunkel Weiss Bier?  I could bring a bit of that too.

I will put that on my calender. It will be good to get to put some faces to names and meet other G owners in the area. Also give me chance to visit my son in Portland.

Re: Northwest G Gathering

I would love to be there as well. I just have to calculate the amount money and time needed to head up to oregon from North Orange County.
this sounds so exiting.

I've done that drive - if I recall it's 24 hours of driving time. Worth it IMO.

Dai, yes Black Butte Porter is famous. I'll bring "enough".

How's about a little trail run on Mary's Peak or Flat Mountain, are those options? I'd love to have a little tech time, too. Just my 2¢.
