Photo DIY- m110 Engine Oil Change

Yes, another very basic post.

This if for the M110 Engine.

I normally "sucky" the oil out, but since it was up already, I did the drain method.

Engine at normal operating temps to mix as much "junk" within the oil pan, into solution with the oil, so it can be purged from the system.

Use caution with the hot engine oil.

Re: Photo DIY- Engine Oil Change

Any idea on an easy way to get a new Crush Washer for the drain plug? Or really, the size of it??

Nice write up... I'm not into the 'sucky' method as I can remember many a particle being flushed out with the force of gravity. Call me crazy.

Got the oil, genuine filter from the local MB dealer... the Crush Washer replacing as you mentioned. Anything else?

Thanks!

Ahhh ok. You are asking a W463 question.... This post was for the W460 M110 engine. PLEASE NOTE! The various torque values will Not apply to the M113 engine.

I will look up the sealing ring number tomorrow... Cant access via Ipad :-(

RE: Photo DIY- Engine Oil Change

Good write-up. I totally support the use of proper torque on re-install.

I also like the drain method.

Added a Mishimoto MMODP-1415B Black M14 x 1.5 Magnetic Oil Drain Plug on the last change.

Should pick-up any metal debris in the engine.
