| Do you know these rims?
Supposedly alurims BBS 16 inch for G-AMG with beadlocks and runflats.
But 16 inch for AMG? Any gives?

Rims for armored 460s! Don't check the new price on these, with them being so incredibly expensive new it surprises me that they're not more popular with the bling-bling crowd. I also recall that these are not alu, but magnesium, but I could be wrong. |

Will only fit on Pre 04 AMG. Will not fit on later AMG without major brake surgery. |

Any use of those 5.5 inch wide rims to fit with 235x85R16 or 8,25R16 Michelin XZL for an expedition rig based on 1995 290GD? Or it's an overkill? |

7.50R16 XZLs should fit on a 5.5 inch rim. I think 8.25s are going to be too wide. Not sure about 235x85s. Anyway, does the price include the runflat inserts? If yes my brother, who knows something about armored vehicles told me they probably are not going to be in a very good shape after such a long time(SW3s were built around 1982-83). |

Yes they can with the right tools if you don't want to damage the rims. |

I have 245/75 R16 on the Hutchinson 6.5 x 16 rims and I could have gone much wider than the 245s. Here is a tire/wheel calculator that might give you some ideas ... I have several others bookmarked if you want those links too ... Oh, and I don't know a thing about the specific wheels you are looking at, though they look like they will do the job ... |

There was some discussion about 5.5 inch rims on GWOA. So 235x85s and 8.25 XZLs should fit.

But is it possible to buy new 8.25 XZLs? I think heard somewhere Magna- Steyr bought the whole production for the military vehicles.

Is it ok to run rubbers on these rims with lower pressure? I mean beadlocks ok, but runflats don't interfere with deflation?
There are new Michelin 8.25R16 XZL. Very expensive, 500 euro/piece in Poland.
The thread looks diffferent from the old ones. I wonder if they still make them with the old thread.

There are a few places in the UK selling the XZLs - about £100 give or take each.
There have been a few discussions on them on the UK forums as was pointed out. Dentsmithy has some on his G - bought on ebay. |

| BBS 3-piece rims / run flat wheels
I came across such a set last week, never knew BBS made these wheels.
They are 5,5 - 16 rims, number listed on the rim is 330 440 02 02 (A3304400202).
Came as a set of 5, with run-flat inserts.

Hutchinson was testing the run flat military ones when I toured the factory. They said the standard was 50 mile at 30 MPH. They were testing for 100 miles at 50MPH. They simulated it getting shot by a 50 cal, put on a machine that put the load of an armored Humvee, then let it go. There was a donut inside the tire that would not let it go flat, but they said the secret was in lubricant the used between the real tire and the donut.
At any rate neat stuff, but not for me

I'm now running 255/85 R16, I'm afraid that is too wide for this 5,5J rim... |
