I can play with pump and pulley size flow control etc but there is a standard kit for the G available from Schmidt, I'll look into that.

Bram Thats the kind of thing I had in mind. I'm looking at a MAN Winter Dienst tomorrow I'm fairly sure they will have got it right and the principles scaled down will be the same applied to the G.

On my PTO, there's a cable attached to the PTO actuation lever, looking at the EPC, it shows a shifting rod. Basicly rod pn. A 460 280 04 56 is for vehicles up to VIN 023958 but actually looks like a cable in the picture (also not longer available. Rod pn. A 460 280 04 55 really looks like a rod and is for vehicles from VIN 023959 and should be available. Curious what is used and how it works. gr. Bram

You pull the lever - just 1 or 2 inches will do and the pto is activated. The pto lever is to be found roughly 4 to 5 inches in a straight line behind the difflock levers. If you are referring to the two different rods pictured below - I will try to take pictures of the setup in my cars with pto - this might take a little while as the days are short and its coldish outside. raicar Edited by raicar 2/6/2013 11:08 AM (VG080 PTO activated via flex line A 460 280 04 56.jpg) (VG080 PTO activated via fixed lever A 460 280 04 55.jpg) Attachments ---------------- VG080 PTO activated via flex line A 460 280 04 56.jpg (53KB - 3 downloads) VG080 PTO activated via fixed lever A 460 280 04 55.jpg (317KB - 2 downloads)

The blue lever in the first picture is referred to as not available anymore. There's only a piece of this cable attached to my PTO box which I installed this weekend. I'll go ahead and order the lever and additional parts as shown on your second picture. Thanks again, Bram

The control cable connects to this ball joint, while the control rod needs to connect to some kind of bushing. Anyone got some pics how what is mounted on the lever coming out of the PTO? Problem is: the control lever matching this rod isn't available anymore according to the EPC (pn. A 360 280 07 56) while the lever now on my PTO (pn. A 460 280 01 56) is avaibale but the matching control cable is not available anymore. Maybe I can adapt the current lever..? With that actuator arm removed, I was able to remove the ball joint set up and replace it by a bolt + bushing that I made. I made a bronze bushing with correct size to correct it for the diameter difference and installed it with a M6 bolt. Should be good to go now! This winch is often to be found in G's used by Swiss utility companies. A company called KELLER in Thun/Switzerland built those G's in the late 80's until the early 90's using FAIREY (later on taken over by SUPERWINCH) PTO driven winches - see mor here: www.kellerfahrzeugbau.ch/images/pict2599.jpg I have one of those in use - very sturdy and easy handling! raicar Edited by raicar 8/15/2013 4:48 AM (KELLER installed PTO driven winch.jpg) (KELLER installed PTO driven winch trial run.jpg) Attachments ---------------- KELLER installed PTO driven winch.jpg (316KB - 1 downloads) KELLER installed PTO driven winch trial run.jpg (439KB - 0 downloads)

Can you tell a bit more on these G's? First one 461 type pick up, second one 461 Wolf..both of them with Keller winch installation afterwards or original? Which one is yours?

My first major project started 1996 based on a German Luftlande WOLF. It went through numerous renovation and upgrade steps including body off, 602 D25A engine with automatic transmission (no electronics at all)..finished after 10 years - that one has a WERNER winch. The PICKUP project started 2008 based on a dilapidated PUCH from Switzerland with a wheelbase of 3,12m and a KELLER alloy bed. The major steps there were a new military cabin with SCHMUDE Hardtop, 603 D35A engine with auto box, Diesel catalyzer and particle filter...it's not finshed right now - this one has the FAIREY/SUPERWINCH. You can be very proud on these very nice G's; both of them having a pto winch adds to the cool factor haha! Why go for the military cabin on the pick-up btw? Just because you wanted it or was the original cab in bad shape? Anyway very good looking G's1 All the best, Bram
