Re: LWB 460/461 Kastenwagens/Van body

Bram,

This one is too young for USA but the locker indicator caught my eyes,
PTO? Is that a winch?

How old do cars have to be to import them and how much does it generally cost?

RE: LWB 460/461 Kastenwagens/Van body

Bram,

The black kastenwagen with the 463 front on the first picture is bought by me and was very rusted.
I'm almost ready with the (extensive) renovation and rebuild of the body/chassis and have added some extras as well.
This is the result of 6 months work!!

Part two

Rebuilding the rolling chassis and putting the G back together.

hopefully the G will be ready to hit the dirt in a few weeks.

Indeed that symbol stands for a PTO, same symbol as used on trucks.
You can also see the PTO actuator, left next to the transfer case shifter.

The description says it has a 220V generator as well, you can see the blue connectors on the left side.
So that thing on front maybe a hydraulicly driven 220V generator?

@ Reckless, from what I know cars over 25 yrs don't have to comply to all the federal laws you have over there. So that makes them interesting to import.

@ Wouter: What an amazing job! Nice to see that PTO winch in place. How come you cut the body in half btw? I got some questions for you I will pm. Great work!

Hi Fernando,

could be a six cylinder as well - maybe a 603 A? Anyway - this Kastenwagen has got nice details: A 270 front fender and an ultra rare WERNER winch - congratulation on this one,

raicar

RE: LWB 460/461 Kastenwagens/Van body

The engine is a OM 603 960 with #16 head.
It runs very good! (already had a speeding ticket doing 155 km/h on the test run when I bought it:( )
It was already in the kastenwagen when I bought it.

RE: LWB 460/461 Kastenwagens/Van body

Currently for sale in my region:

1986 Wolf 300GD, 4speed manual. Can't tell if engine is original, but certainly looks like a nice clean and rust free car. Claimed to have 34183 original km's, nice one!
