RE: Looking for a few good souls for a Death Valley trip

There was one scary moment in Death Valley which left our group in shock for the remainder of the day.

Since Mike and I were bringing up the rear (as usual) we came across our group standing motionless as they faced the greatest impass a G group has ever faced. There in front of them stood a hybrid tarantula. Luckily Steve knew that a spider's vision was poor and that motion was the only thing that attracted them. They froze in their tracks. Mike and I watched helplessly in horror from the neighboring hillside as the hairy beast strolled past picking up on the motion of a passing goat.

After several minutes (which seemed like hours) the group made their way back to their G's and continued on with renewed caution.

DUTCH,
Why didn't you make it out for this one? I think I remember hearing a long while back that there was a chance. It'd be nice.

Too far to drive. Also, I do not like large groups on trail rides. They're just another madding crowd; and I get those every day around Atlanta.

Just my own idiosyncrasy - one of many.

Inkblotz figured that one out by flying in and riding along. One less truck, one more fabulous perspective
It was the perfect size group too.
Next time.

5 is the most I care to share the trail with. When plans were being made for that particular trip, the initial number was much higher; and, to me, that's too many.

I like my solitude. As said above, just one of my many idiosyncrasies.

RE: Looking for a few good souls for a Death Valley trip

Sorry to those of you expecting a cd from me. I have been a TOTAL slacker I know. I will get on those, OR, I'd like to offer an alternative if anyone likes you can download only the certain photos you want from my site( with a password of course). Let me know, otherwise I will proceed to burn a copy to those of you who know who you are.
