James,

I have thought about it, but I'm just returning from the Pantanal region of Brazil in that time frame and I might need a few days to shake the Yellow Fever ....

I am in as usual, but will have better bladder control to reduce the number of stops and to keep up with you W463 power mongers.

I really like the dates of October 3 through October 10.....heck, I think even Harald is unscheduled that week.

OK,

let's hear from the other usual suspects in regards to their busy schedule.

That 10/3 to 10/10 time might be not too bad after all - I could continue afterward towards Colorado via Esclante & Moab to retrieve our G-dog River from

her summer camp. Heinz, are you listening?

RE: Looking for a few good souls for a Death Valley trip

I think I've nailed at least two and October is looking pretty wide open at the moment.

If you give me a heads up on dates, I'll leave right away since it may take me a few weeks to get up and over Tioga Pass.

Karl, please bring your "outback throne". I did some damage to the back door last time going native stylie. Too much time in a G500 seat I guess (wow, those seats are surprisingly flat). I'm bringing the fiber this time for sure. I must be over 40.

Bring your Utilikilt....it tends to get hot there and the more ventilation the merrier.

Brilliant, although I don't think the convention is strictly commando.

I once saw a picture of someone wearing one of those and they had the strangest looking coin purse hanging from below.

Strange.

Karl, I'm listening as you know. But this time I can't join Death Valey. In October I will be on a trip from Alabama to Ontario/Canada and back enjoying the Indian Summer. Any other G in Ontario at this time?

Sure Mark, drive over. I think I'll go too as I meet 5 out of 5 criteria. Just need the dates asap, although October is currently wide open.

That really looks promising.......

I still would like to start around the 10/9 if possible, but I'm open for your different time schedule - just need to get my monthly allowance check first

So, please start doing the time thing

Count me in.  Any chance that we can organize a Baja trip later in the year?

OK,

I had look at the wrong calender month or so.......

October 10th, a Saturday could be the starting day on the Western side of DV National Park and we would hover in that larger area until (?) our friends from far away or the ones with the 300GD's will meet up with the rest of us.

Towards the end of that following week I plan of migrate slowly further up Northeast to end up in Colorado to retrieve our G-dog River from summer camp in the Rockies.

Alan,

does your G-wagen has a trailer hitch? End of the Year trip down the Baja.....I need to tow two trailers.......might be just the right thing to do

Yes, I have a 2" receiver and a ball hitch 1&7/8 as well as 2".  The receiver is a shop made job but seems sturdy enough.  That was what you were winching against while trying to extricate yourself from a certain "dry" lake.  I haven't installed wiring, but that isn't too hard.  Would I need the whole electric brake mess?

RE: Looking for a few good souls for a Death Valley trip

OK...I will put in for vacation of October 12 thru 16.  I plan to stay the week.  Does that sound about right Karl ?  Last year, I think we had 3 possible meeting places or some type of itinerary mapping out where we were camping everynight(so anyone can drop in at any point)....I think with a small group we dont need to follow such an itinerary other than meeting places and times.

Mike
