| OT - a link for travel photographers
Making preparations to head out into UT, NV, AZ, CO for a couple weeks in September had me looking at some old sites that I thought might make good reference. I know that lots of folks here like to put some thought into their travel photography. This website has lots of handy information for planning to be in the right location to capture the sun or moon risng or setting in relation to terrestrial objects like mountains, your camp, some dramatic lansdcape feature, etc.
By telling you the compas direction (azimuth) of the celestial body's breaching of the horizon you can use that information together with a map to establish line of sight from the celestial object, through the terrestrial object of choice, and thereby plan to be in a location along that line at the appropriate time to capture a nice photo. Print a table and take it with you, just in case an opportunity "arrises" (DOH)!

If you're only interested in times and not locations, the US navy makes a nice table that can calculate for anywhere on eath.

Have fun!
