Since I don't have the lift I'll either have alot more work to do on the sump or I'll have to go for the lift

Hus55 project....i like that. it seems my conversion has a patent marking now way@out no problem mate btw you are right, i had the orc coil and body lift before the 606 was fitted. as regards to the sump, i will end up getting the original G300 TD sump in the summer, its better suited to off road use. i will get gearbox info soon too.

HUss i sent you p.m but i think that you didn't read it!! Hi GVP, the 711.620 does bolt up to the om606. I have bought the 711.620 since my last post, now I'm working out the clutch and DMF. I should have them next week. Once I've got the tranny and engine bolted up I'll start the actual swap. At that point I'll be updating with info about the engine mounts and oil pan modifications.

Way@Out Regular Date registered: Feb 2009 Location: Portugal Vehicle(s): W460 300GD '85 Posts: 69 | RE: Swaping a 617 for a 606 I got a pleasant surprise today, the original 8 bolt connection on the output end of the gearbox can be put on the sprinter gearbox. The spline is the same but there is a difference in length, the one removed from the sprinter is about 42mm long and the one off my original 5 speed is 74mm. Which also includes 13mm difference in the length of the spline. I've compared the length of the two gearboxes and the sprinter tranny seems to be about 100mm shorter. Here are a few pics.
