Posts: 2230 | RE: Swaping a 617 for a 606 hope the conversion is going to plan.. i would just like to comment on my cabrio since testing it since its return from my mechanic after changing the plungers. AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have never imagined to get this much power from a 460 G. its a blitzen benz !!! just to give an idea of power increase. when travelling form kyrenia to nicosia up the mountain i used to climb up in 3rd gear with 603 engine at 80 kmh flat out struggle. when i fitted the 606 it would hold 4th gear for a short distant but speed would drop to 50 kmh... now i am tearing up the pass in 4th and 5th gear at anything between 90- 130 kmh. its unreal !! i cannot stop grinning when i drive it it demolishes my G300. it cruises in 4th gear at 25kmh and pulls like a train when i put my foot down ! it doesnt need 3rd gear to overtake.... top speed seems to be 160km without much fuss.this is no longer a G that ran out of puff at the slightest incline. i am absolutely chuffed. i hope to test it off road once the 35's arrive [in a few weeks i am told...] the G is in the workshop, the rear diff is finished, the front should be ready by wednesday. i would just like say that this is the ULTIMATE CONVERSION for ALL 460's PLUNGERS ARE A MUST THOUGH, without changing the old ones out of the 603 you just aint going to see the immense power of the 606. rgds hus. I have a question about the sprinter's gearbox 711620 that i ll order for my conversion!!That gearbox at sprinter uses dual mass flywheel, but way@out used that : http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BRAND-NEW-SOLID-FLYWHEEL-CLUTCH-KIT-MERCEDES-... why???does the dual mass flywheel fits at om606? I'm wondering which is the best flywheel and clutch for my 711620 to hold up nicely 350hp and 60NM????

The dualmass flywheels need replacing after a certain amount of miles and the solid flywheel will last forever.

I have made a drawing where the red area will need to be deepened 1mm. The lip on the engine crankshaft seems to be 1mm more than the one on the sprinter. I had to do this modification to mine. Legend: Blue = Flywheel Black = Crankshaft Green = Flywheel bolts Red = Area which needs to be modified, you need to remove 1mm. If these are for the 606 can you please post an image showing them and there mounts? part number for the mounts would be deeply appreciated.

He's given me the keys to the shop so I can try to get the swap going again. I've got to workout the engine supports. Due to lack of skill to fabricate my own I would like to get the oem engine supports, does anyone know they'll bolt up without cutting and welding?

That should tell you if the factory arms will work on your frame.

I've probably got the answer here, http://www.pointedthree.com/disc/forums/showthread.php?tid=9202&pos... The numbers are a little hard to read (a clearer copy of the 2 pages would be great), but I should be able to measure and compare engine mounts on both.
