Harald, you fridge appears to be the same as what is sold in aus ,
as a primus polar ice.
cannot see a difference apart from the plastic colour.
and the one here has metal handles.
probably because over exuberant people broke the plastic ones
hahaha.

I recently found a fridge conversion kit that would allow for making a refrigerator with custom dimensions if desired. It is an Engel setup that is basically the guts out of one of their portable fridge models. Swing arm compressor and evap panel with 12/24v or 110v input.

that ENGEL kit looks great! Custom dimensions is nice, maybe my two OPTIMA auxiliary-batteries, that I keep in the cellar where the sub-woofer used to live, will have to make room for the custom fridge.... |

I am considering the newer ARB 50 Qt Fridge/Freezer, and was looking for some feedback. I am very interested in the amount of space it consumes and if any of you have mounted this or other fridges into your G-Wagons.

I already have two 50W panels that magnetically mount to the roof. This panel mounts to the hood or to the roof when I need it in order to keep the battery topped off. I connect both panels together in series for 100W when I run additional accessories without impacting the battery (or batteries).

I currently use the Victron SmartSolar Charge Controller with Built-In Bluetooth – MPPT 75/15. It actually works best with the panels in 24V configuration.

I have an Engel 35 in my G. I tie it down to the luggage tie down eyes on the passenger side of the cargo area, and connect it direct to the battery. |

I hear good things about the ARB fridges, family and friends using them without any problems.
My Edgestar, not the prettiest or the best built, hasn’t let me down yet.
Size, layout, and space available are extremely important. Measure twice, sketch, measure again, mock up, measure again, build. When I built my shelves, I measured 3-4 refrigerators and stoves of different brands and built to the larger dimensions. 2 years after It was built,I had already replaced the stove but it wasn’t an issue due to planning ahead. I however hadn’t planned on running 2 house battery’s and adding a smart pass to my Ctek dc/dc charger, I had to cut down my drawer length. Now I only have mm to spare.
