HELH81953021 arrived!

Looks identical to the original Hella pump. Only the electrical connectors are 2 instead of 3. Its missing any Hella labeling (could it be a China knockoff?)

But anyway, it works just fine for $76!

Just tried to order one... but of course they do not ship to New Zealand :-(

Would you like for one of us here to order it, and send it on?

Re: G55 Diff Lock Vacuum Pump

I put my vacuum gauge on the pump and it builds to about .55 bar and then kicks out, but the gauge starts dropping instantly and the pump kicks back in at .4 bar. The rapid drop within the closed system of the pump itself says there is a leak inside the pump. It should hold steady once it hits the shut off point correct? I seem to get plenty of vacuum once I connect the engine line and the pump itself, like almost .8 bar. Does the solenoid protect the down the components from too much vacuum? I know the center lock doesn't use the intensifier, but it won't engage, so I am trying to figure out that one first. It push the switch on the dash, the yellow light comes on, the pump runs but I never get the red engaged light. I am assuming the bladder inside the TC portion is kaput. If that one never engages I am assuming the others won't either. I also connected my gauge to the line that comes out of the solenoid to the center lock, it builds pressure and the pump shuts off, but again it loses pressure from within the pump, and the re flight never comes on. The lady who had this truck before I don't think ever engaged the lockers. I bled the hydraulic lines with a pressure pump, the rear bled fine, the from spit out a small amount of gunk and nothing more. I am assuming my pump needs to be replaced, more than likely the front intensifier and the TC center lock bladder. Is there anyway to test the solenoids themselves, and what all do they control in the system? Thanks to anyone who is willing to chime in. How about that less expensive version of the similar pump, did that ever work for you Dutch?

RE: G55 Diff Lock Vacuum Pump

Sorry read up this post and found out more about the Hella less expensive pump. Dorman makes one too, although the connector portion is slightly different. These run about 48.00.
Dorman 904-214 is available from many online ordering sites. Not sure if I am allowed to put the link to the cheapest one i found or not.

you can see the connection slightly better here…
