Set-up my Motive with Castrol GMA at 2 bar. Opened the front bleed screw and only a few drops come out. The rear, nothing. Has anyone else had this? Could the systen be clogged? There is pressure in the system, when I release it at the Motive unit. Have not engaged the locks for a while. Thanks, Garth

I put the preasure sytem back on and will let it slowly (hopefully) push out the old oil. If nothing improves I try your Back-Bleeding. I've been slowly doing the maintenance items (have 50k miles). I don't think the previous ower did any maintenance, just changed the original plugs today and the Diff. Oil (nasty) last week. G

Yes, this is why I bleed mine ANNUALLY!! I have seen "Differential Fluid FECAL Material" come out of my friends' lines!!

After about an hour I had a good stream. Used some extra fluid and let it run for a bit. The recovered fluid was brownish green. I definitely will do it again, annually. Brakes were OK, good stream and not bad colour.

I ordered the seal/spring kit and removed the cylinder and disassembled it as the stuff inside was solid. After thorough cleaning and replacement of seals it now bleeds great, except the light doesn't come on properly (minor adjustment!). Strange that it was working fine before, so the fluid at the bleed screw end may solidify but there is still enough movement to operate it.

Probably? I recall trying that but to no avail. Fortunately it doesn't seem the fluid in the pipes solidifies as much as it is further away from moisture/air?

Hi Alan I personally didn't have much luck clearing out the line when applying vacuum to the intensifier, (even with 2bar plus behind the fluid). I did notice some air and fluid mixed, squishy sound, when ever I released the vacuum? Ended up removing the line from the wheel well to the banjo nut and rebuilt the activator. Most of the crud seems to have collected in the rubber line, IMO. For some reason my front intensifier wasn't creating any noticeable fluid movement with vacuum applied, (even after the rebuild), so I bought a new intensifier. A week later, I lifted all four wheels off the ground to replace the part. Before I started, thought I'd turn the key and make sure the other lockers are still working. To my surprise, the front locker instantly engaged! It didn't hold engagement for long, but it would always engage once the dash switch was reset, (another story). One idea as to why it began to work, perhaps the intensifier was sludge filled or the plunger seals had tarnish buildup and the new fluid dissolved the sludge? Or some air bubble was trapped in the intensifier and it found it's way up the line and into the reservoir? Anyway, I now have a spare intensifier, and thanks to all of you, increased knowledge of the locker operation! Annual fluid change from here on in!
