Couldn't you afford good tires? She is a proper lady, shoes for every occasion! The Simex are outstanding in deep mud and absolutely rubbish on tarmac, rocks, gravel, well any surface other than mud. That is why the other g wears bfgoodrich mt, good on every surface, not as good as Simex in the mud though. So soon the red one will be wear bfg and the blue one the simex while it endures its long sleep due to the mad dutch taxes! Having said that, the red one isn't allowed on the road until March (December, January and February forbidden by law)

Anyway: chassis was were needed treated with Dinitrol converust and then painted over with Hammerite antirust paint. Axles got the same treatment, dinitrol first followed by hammerite but this time a different colour to the chassis, this was an accident but it is nice that the axles are not too shiney Underside of body, first dinitrol again followed by dinitrol USB undercoating. All hollow compartments are still to be done with Dinitrol, followed by Ml, followed by wax. I have no illusions that it will stay rustfree for ever but do hope i have bought another 5-10 years and maybe longer if I Keep it in a garage? I used Dinitrol because of favourable reviews, never used it before so we will see what happens

Used on salt water environments, nothing but good reviews and references (Deutsche Bahn) from what I read so far. Seems more user friendly than the POR15 stuff. For closed compartments I use Terotex HV400, as it scored pretty high in some German corrosion tests (Mike Saunders on 1, the Terotex came third. Dinitrol is a well known name as well of course. gr. Bram p.s. I'm not a big fan of Hammerite btw, stays kind of sticky and a pain to ever remove again if necessary.

Not clever I know.. I can trace most of them but the only ones, so far, which are missing in action are the alternator wires. One should go from alternator to dasboard light, colour? One should go the battery to charge it, I Can make a new one and the third? And what colour runs down to the starter motor? Car in question was a 300gd rhd. Or if someone has a wiring diagram that would,be great! Many thanks Richard

This allows you to Trace Lines, as well as look for Shorts, and Open Circuts. Since the "Bride-of-Frankenstein" has been re-wired soooo many times, there is ZERO "Standard Wiring" to be able to refer to a Factory Wiring Diagram.

Not that you are looking for anything to do, but occasionally I have had to address wiring issues in a vehicle and I like to keep the color coding as close as possible to factory. I order from www.riwire.com They have American, British, Italian and German style tracers on the wire. Look under "Supplies" and then "Wire Colors, and wire by the foot"

Here is an example of their plastic coated, 16 gauge stranded wire. I would not hesitate to reach for it for a repair today.
