well, we all know that my reccommended pressure with 195's is 28 front, 32 rear............

i have 205's though now...........

do i need to increase/decrease any of the pressures, to be optimally correct?

Re: Tire Pressure

What does your tire recommend? Its best if your running the same PSI on all 4 tires. On the ML I run 33.5 its a good mix between performance and not wasting anymore gas.

Re: Tire Pressure

im worrying about wasting more tread............

i guess i will fill them, and make them like the manual says, regardless that the tire size is one size bigger........

RE: Tire Pressure

I'm researching that same issue with my ML - I just went from stock 17x8 to 19x9.5 with a 285/45/19 tire. Michelin has a calculator on the website but you need to know the tire part number. There are other sites that attempt to recompute the tire pressure based on vehicle variables. TireRack also has something on their Tire Tech publication. When I get something, I'll let you know.

RE: Tire Pressure

G,,day, according to a top tech bloke here in AUS . start with what you think may be ok ,for this example lets say 30 psi cold ,after a reasonable highway drive (50mile ?) check the pressure .optimally it should have increased by 10 % ,ie 3psi. if increase is greater than 10% the tyre was under inflated to start with and moved ,squirmed too much causing too much heat build up and increase in pressure . obviously less than 10% increase ,over inflated and not enough heat ,pressure build up . works for all tyres in onroad usage .hope this helps . it certainly has helped me for many years ,normal cars rally cars 4x4 etc .cheers ,Kerry.

Re: Tire Pressure

thanks for your input........i have the car in the shop AGAIN, so ill mess with her when she's out.......

in my opinion, the front tire pressure of 28 is too low, as they appear "saggy"

the rears at 32 seem to "look" just fine...........

i just want this new set of tires to last for more than the 15k miles the last set did.........

RE: Tire Pressure

The specs for my 2005 E500 4Matic are 29 front and 34 rear. The rears tires were wearing more in the middle and the car seemed to drift around with the lower pressure in the front. I have experimented with 32/32 front/rear and 31/33 front/rear. I also rotate the tires every 6000 to 6500 miles. I will hit 40K on the OEM tires this week and expect to get 50K on them before replacing the tires at the end of the Summer.
