I noticed a leak coming from the driver side in the front of the truck. At first I thought it was the steering gearbox ($$$$ to replace from what I understand) but after looking into it some more, it seems the leak is coming from somewhere in the front bumper, near the oil cooler (?) located in the middle of the bumper. Whatever is leaking is making its way down the bumper into the same area as the power steering box. Is this cooler part of the power steering system or something else like the transmission?

After taking off the front skid plate (thank God for cordless impact wrenches!), it's obvious the leak is in the elbow on the left side of the ATF cooler in the bumper. Seems that the left side is the supply ("in") side. The return/right side looks like it goes into the right side of the main radiator at the bottom and comes out the top and goes back into the transmission after that. I would appreciate it if someone could post a parts diagram of this system. I noticed the return line is in bad shape where it runs along the bottom of the main radiator, so I would like to replace that part of it as well (assuming I don't have to replace the entire line at once). I wonder why they didn't include a dipstick for the transmission so I could check how much ATF actually leaked out. I'm sure it's no problem getting one from a dealer, but still, not very roadside emergency friendly.... So I think I found the right parts diagram and need to replace parts 68 and 78 but I've never done this particular type of work before. Will I need any special tools to disconnect the fittings? I'm told that it's very day to shear the nuts off the cooler at this point so go easy with a spanner. Lots of release spray and maybe some heat. Probably best to contain the heat/flame when working under there.
