As you can see in the attached pictures, my spare tire cover was damaged and I have since replaced it. So now I am thinking of ideas to use the old one for. Potential thoughts: - repair and repaint for the next damage event. Kind of useless dragging around a ready to go spare - repair the dents out and periodically paint political statements. kinda of fun but wife will not approve - repair and paint a Gadsden flag on it. Very fun. Wife might approve - cut the post off and use it as a very nice drip pan. Lots of utility. - sell as is for someone else to repair. Not sure there is a market out there for that. Any other ideas, especially fun utilitarian ideas. Thought about a nice slide down a snowy hill this winter but the pole is a little scary. Actually, it is fairly Easy to pound out the dent from behind. You may even get lucky and not need to re-paint.

My tire cover has a nice crease from someone (pickup I think) backing into it while it was parked at a baseball game. It hangs on the wall in the garage now. I replaced the spare with a AAA card for highway driving, and throw it in the back if I go camping or off the beaten path. A trip to Ace hardware for some rubber washers and appropriately threaded bolts plug the holes where the mount used to hang on the back of the truck.

I had thought to reuse my old damaged one as well. You could cut off most of the disc, weld a 3" by 16-18" reinforced bar across the end and use it as a HiLift jack mount. The tube fits nice and snug inside the center piece of the mounting plate on the rear of the Gwagen. A hole through both tubes, with a pin like is used for a trailer hitch, locking or not, could be used to retain it so that the added bar sits flush against the spare tire. Maybe too Jeepish?

I'm liking the sunbrella stand idea. throw it on the sand, shovel sand on top, insert sunbrella. Sit cooler on top for added ballast. But then again, more crap to haul around. Heavy duty sunbrellas are not that hard to bury in the sand. Wall marque and backup drip pan. Still may have to beat some more of the dents out and paint it.
