Am wondering if I should bother taking this off the truck before selling, it's a standard 2" ball. (image.jpg) Attachments ---------------- image.jpg (142KB - 4 downloads)

Unfortunately, that is a German hitch. The ball is 50 mm, which is a tick larger that 1 7/8 and a tick smaller than 2". So not really fitting a US trailer Oskar Edited by oskar 7/21/2014 7:39 PM

So not really fitting a US trailer Oskar I used the one on my 280GE as a 2" with never a problem. 50 mm is only 0.08 mm less than 2". Insignificant!

Objection your honor :-). 2" is 50.8 mm - or 50 mm : 1.968" I have a trailer with a German 50 mm coupling, and that does ot fit well on either 1 7/8 nor 2". And a US 2" on 50 mm is a bit loose. If you have a US coupling that you can tighten .. that may work. But if you have a coupler like a Bulldog collar lock - that is really loose and rattling Oskar Edited by oskar 7/21/2014 7:59 PM

I use my 50mm tow ball on my Bimmer to haul trailers around in the US. ] amg463 - 7/22/2014 12:11 AM Oskar, you're right. A hair less than 2". Steve, what do you mean? He's being pedantic about the difference of 1.9685 in < 2 in. Edited by or_550i 8/4/2014 5:19 PM
