I'd like to get another set of wheels so that I can swap between summer and winter tires myself. There was a thread between Harald and Erik on Benzworld several years ago about having steel wheels made that would fit the G500. Have not seen that mentioned recently so assume that did not work out? I did see a set of G55 wheels for sale but I understand they are even wider than stock G500 wheels (9.5 vs 7.5?) so probably not the thing for winter tires. Best, or perhaps most cost effective, solution may be to find another set of G500 OEM wheels? Thank you.

Don´t the G steel wheels (6x16 I think) fit? I have recently seen a military `00 G300DT with such rims and I would say the 02 G500 brakes are pretty similar. Not sure if they are available in the US, but in Europe MB dealers are asking about 150 euro/piece.

Buy the G55 wheels for summer and fit winter tires to your G500 wheels... Or, yes, buy another set of G500 wheels. A used set would be the most economical route.

Picked up a set of the five spokers, had them powder coated black and mounted a set of Nokian Hakka R's on them. Makes for a reliable winter ride.

I last got a set of the 18" G500 wheels that were stock on your truck. They run about $700 for a set of four. Most people will not realize you have even changed your wheels when you switch over. Either buy Dutch's set, or a local set on ebay or craigslist. The steel wheels are about 70 euros each but I have not seen them available here. Easiest is the stock alloys. I have 16" version of your alloy and 18" set for winter with studded tires. Even with the smaller rim, people don't notice the change, which I feel is nice.
