flooded front footwells

Hi Everyone.

We had a lot of ran yesterday and one of the 500GE's was outside. Today, I found that the r/s front foot well had a lot of water in it. The l/s had a little.

I pulled all floor matts and dried out. Cause?

1. Windshield wiper seals?

2. Drain tubes from sun roof clogged?

3. Fresh air duct - drain tube or hole clogged? Is there such a thing?

I need to figure this out and fix it, but thought I would start here for ideas?

Thanks for your continued knowledge.

I had similar issue with my G550, it ended up being #2.

Re: flooded front footwells

Thanks everyone.

I have cleaned out # 2 and found the r/s one closed off.

I am placing an order for the wiper assembly repair kit. 000 820 10 40

Is there a drain tube associated with the fresh air intake duct that is under the hood?

Re: flooded front footwells

The intake duct drain is likely the same as the AC condensate drain.  Given where you live, if the AC drain were plugged you'd know about it already.

Ouch on an '12? I'm sure that was unexpected

Unexpected! I guess yes it was not something I bargained for and all the issues that were a result of it. For the amount of time it was getting looked at was the unfortunate part. I was just thankful the warranty came in handy...one of many times!

Re: flooded front footwells

It was the drain tube's to the sun roof. No problem after cleaned out with lot's of continuing rain.

Thanks

RE: flooded front footwells

AFAIK, a common cause for this is the clogging of the air intake box drain. Leaves get into the box and clog it. Clean it thoroghly and stick a finger (excuse my French) down the drain to make sure it is free of debris...
