The LHS brake light & trailer plug are both working fine. Before I start stripping out the back of the vehicle to follow the loom does anyone know where the split is for the brake light loom, I assume it is probably in or near the rear battery compartment. Can anyone confirm when the CAN BUS & front & rear SAMs were fitted, I doubt I have this system on a 2000 model and think this all started on the 2002s but if anyone can confirm it would be good, as if I have a rear SAM I guess this will be the best place to start looking, I know the 2002's had the rear SAM in the aft end of the centre console but the earlier consoles were quite different to this. Any info, advice or wiring diagram would be appreciated. Edited by colsG55 8/22/2014 3:50 AM

Does it also give you the connector location as "Connector Sleeve 4, Z50/4 @ Coordinate 14E" looks to be the first place to check. Does it specify where coordinate 14E is. If you look at the border you can see the key. It is about dead center in the diagram. Unfortunately, there isn't a "here is where you find this part in the car" key. That would have saved me many hours of hunting.

Thanks for the clarification, looks like I will be some hunting to do over the next few days.
