My rather small wife has always had trouble seeing out the back when in reverse. As I did not want to spend time or effort on replacing the existing HU, thought a good alternative would be a separate monitor. Total install time was about 2 hours with most time spent finding a place to come through the fire wall and make the connections behind the dash. The installed items are; BOYO VTM4302 4.3-Inch Digital Monitor BOYO VTL375HD HD Rear View Camera The image details are excellent and to date the wife is happy. SilverG500, thanks so much for this post. Just this past weekend I was discussing my wishes for installing an O.E.M backup camera but with the desire of installing with a separate monitor and keeping the Command system in place. I searched and searched here and other sites with no hints that this has been done using the O.E.M camera. I will most likely order the monitor and the camera from Karl. Stay tuned. How is the camera activated, or is it on constant rear view similar to UPS and other commercial vehicles?

The nice thing about this monitor is it has 2 audio/video inputs so I have a/v 2 in the glovebox for possible like to a device.
