RE: Harald - Hurricane in Cabo

thank you all for your undivided support - we really need it
Karl made it safely and in record time
yes, he brought beer and cigars
what a friend!

we celebrated with a fish lunch - in a restaurant without a roof
but hey the fish was divine

How lucky you are to have such a devoted friend. You guys enjoy your company and good luck in rebuilding your property. I hope the efforts made on this and other forums will result in you and your community getting your paradise back to its former glory. Keep us posted, old eagle!

Re: Harald - Hurricane in Cabo

thank you guys for all your help so far
I am humbled by those fast initiatives and I am embarrassed to admit that I needed help

please don't start another war - we have enough of those already

I am deeply saddened to see that we now have hurricane damage on the G forums

I had no communication in the direct aftermath of the hurricane and was not involved in any of the fund raisers
therefore there is no "approved" or "official"
the people collecting money are in control of those funds
trust them if you are comfortable with them

however, if you like a different avenue, I'll be happy to give you my personal information in case you want help Karl and I to dig out of this mess
for paypal: Use my email harald.pietschmann@gmail.com
for Wells Fargo: Acc. 2450902461 - Routing 121042882

when everything is back in place we (Karl and I) would like to invite all of you to spend some time for free here in La Paz
not all at once of course - don't have that many beds
and no, you don't need to donate in order to join in paradise
G friends sometimes need to get together - eat, drink, talk, laugh
we'll arrange for some cool offroading and camping - definitely putting Karl's boat in the water

Karl and I are hard at work to do what needs to be done
300+ ft of walls are completely gone plus 1,000 electrical and mechanical issues

RE: Harald - Hurricane in Cabo

Again - thank you all for your positive thoughts
and thank you for your support if you donated

please do not collect any more funds

we have basic services restored and the banks are open again
I have enough to eat and to drink - I will get through this
it will take months to rebuild and restore
but hey, we have plenty of sunshine and the Margaritas are good

Re: Harald - Hurricane in Cabo

Glad to hear that the things are going back to normal.

As you know I almost made it to come this summer, so probably we can make it next summer. Leave me some work to finish.

Re: Harald - Hurricane in Cabo

well, my broken feet don't do too well - I am better in a wheelchair
arthritis in shoulders and thumbs make for tough days

Karl has some similar symptoms and was actually scheduled for surgery when he felt the urge to drive south

maybe we are just getting a bit old

Re: Harald - Hurricane in Cabo

Be well Harald, I'm sure all will be good at a later stage and you'll be enjoying the sunny weather and beers again.

Sorry to read your hurricane damage leads to some bizarre reactions in the donation topic on CGW.
Good to read you're putting some things in perspective, hope the ones concerned come to their senses.

All the best and greetings from the Netherlands,

Bram

p.s. did your G survive the hurricane without major damage?

Re: Harald - Hurricane in Cabo

my G baby rested safe and sound in the garage
and it helped me without complaints to get through town after the hurricane
especially on the partially non existing roads
