2003 wheels fit 2014's??

My winter wheels from from my 03 G were 8.50Jx18H2-ET48

The new rims are 7.5Jx18H3 ET 43.

Bolt holes match fine, but they sit in real tight and look look like they are going to rub the brake calipers.

The old G oem wheels were 7.5J x18 H2 ET43 so they are the same as the new rims. Is there any reason why I would need to be concerned about the fit?

I think they are ok?

That doesn't look like much clearance to me...

I think I would feel a LOT better with a 5mm spacer in there, so it matches the offset of the stock wheels.

The problem with running it that way is that if there is contact, it will probably do a bunch of damage and likely cause a wreck.

Thanks Brent,

Do you know where I can get a 5mm spacer from?

You might try the Tire Rack online. Karl looks like he has a source as well... http://g-wagenaccessories.com/products/wheelSuspension.htm

Karl only does 30mm.

TireRack doesn't sell them but they referred me to http://adaptitusa.com/ .

They can do it for $119.00.

The OEM MBUSA 18" rims on non AMG's have indeed not changed dimensions, they have been 7.5x18 ET43 since the 2002 model.

I have been running the standard MBUSA Ashtaroth 18" on a 2014 G550 (with 255/70R18 Blizzaks DM-V1), it is exactly the same size and fit as the 2014 OEM rims (sorry don't know their name). You can actually even run 16" Atik rims on the current G550's because the brake calipers are still the same.

I believe the winter rims you were running on 8.5" wide and ET48 may be from an AMG model, not sure.
