I like the look of the 5 Bar on Land Rovers. Thoughts? Too tacky? Any one else want a pair? How dare you soil the Germann Marque? ORC make them for the W463, but they don't cover the whole top of the fender, and it is not the 5 bar checker.

Yes, I stand on them. I also have Mercedes supplied walk on hood in my garage that is about to get repainted body color. I'll be able to stand on that too now. Found this one with the plate added, doesn't look too bad IMO:

Otis, What exactly has been done to the reinforced hood to...well...reinforce it? I am very interested in this as, like others, have frequently found the need to walk on the hood even though I have stopped myself. I step on the stock fenders from time to time though - a few scratches but no dents yet. The extra scratches aren't really noticeable given all the other scratches on my G Steve

I use them when working on the engine for putting tools and parts down, to stop scratching the paint. Take them off when driving. I have some alumium checkerplate and will make some permanent ones someday, for the same purpose. The G fenders are great platforms for stuff.
