Anyone know if ends for the track rod are sold separately or does one have to buy the entire track rod? Do yourself a favor and go here: http://epc.startekinfo.com/epc/subscribe.jsp Register yourself for free. You can then look up every part number with diagrams on your truck.

That is a great price. And a reduction from years past I think. EPC for North American passenger cars has been and continues to be free. Worldwide has been and still is $12.00/yr. I've been using the latter for 10 yrs or more. It's a very handy tool at a great price!

Age wears these parts out as much as mileage simply because the grease gets hard and the parts lose flexibility thus putting more strain on the power steering system. If the boots are split, that's it. The new boots don't seal that well & you can't re-lube the joint anyways. I replaced these parts on my G & it was very easy. I replaced the drag link & the steering bar. The clicking noise might be the steering coupler. I had a similar noise on my Silverado pickup. Swore it was a ball joint, but the slip joint in the steering column was dry & required lubrication. Lucky, I have an awesome front end specialist next door! Don't be afraid to tackle these easy jobs, it allows you to throw more new parts on an older vehicle. Your truck isn't old, but its nearing a "soft restoration" phase. Go ahead and spend $5,000 on parts & labor if you intend to keep it. That's peanuts compared to a new model. While your at it, install a new radiator, hoses, water pump, belts, tensioner, plugs, injectors rebuilt, brakes flushed & cleaned. If you have money leftover, buy new shocks & a new starter.
